Zuma is a Japanese Izakaya-style restaurant chain. Co-founded by Divia Lalvani, Rainer Becker and Arjun Waney in 2002, Zuma has 14 venues globally and 8 seasonal locations. The restaurant has three kitchens: the main kitchen, the sushi counter and the robata grill.
History[edit]
Becker developed the concept of Zuma while working in Tokyo, where he spent six years learning about Japanese food and culture.[1] In 2002, together with Arjun Waney[2] and Divia Lalvani,[3] Lalvani and Becker launched the first Zuma location in the Knightsbridge area of London. Its success led to its expansion to many cities internationally.
