In the Eukaryota ellipse, shouldn't Fungi cladistically be closer to Animalia than Plantae?

I guess this image is the representation of Woese' research (1990) of which I know little. But based on Keeling's research (2004) Fungi are closer to Animals than Plants. The former two are part of the kingdom of Unikonts and the latter is a separate kingdom itself. And of course all of them are in the empire/domain of Eukaryotes.
